About Us
Frontenac House Media Ltd. is a dynamic publishing house based in Calgary, Alberta. Since our launch in 2000, we have published a wide variety of titles in categories like poetry, aviation, political satire, fiction, art and photography. In September of 2011, Frontenac House merged with rapidBOOKS, a technology book publisher also based in Calgary.
The goal for the new company is to publish titles in a wider range of categories, specifically branching out into Young Adult, Children’s literature and Technology content. Three new imprints have been created to facilitate this expansion: Infource will publish Young Adult titles, The Leapfrog Foundation will publish Children’s titles and ByteSeer will take care of Technology titles.
Frontenac House Media will continue the publishing policies and philosophies that have proved successful for Frontenac House. Foremost of these approaches is the recognition that authors are the absolute foundation of a publisher’s success. We will continue to publish poetry, art and fiction titles along with these new categories.
The roles played by the personnel at Frontenac House and rapidBOOKS have evolved with the merger. Manoj Khanna is now President and CEO of the combined company. Rose Scollard and David Scollard will work as consulting editors with general responsibility for continuing and developing the company’s literature and art list. Lyn Cadence, formerly Publicist at Frontenac House and also Director of Marketing and Public Relations at rapidBOOKS, will become Publisher of the combined company. Bob Stallworthy, Associate Editor at Frontenac House, will expand his role to include general author relations. Book distribution will continue to be handled by Alpine Book Peddlers of Canmore, AB.
